What is a merchant account?

A merchant is also known as an advertiser. Merchants get a high return from online marketing with low risk using an affiliate program.

Affiliate marketing is a safe and time-tested strategy for making money online. Whether you have a website that sells a product/service or a website that has nothing to sell, by joining an affiliate program you can increase traffic to your website and thereby maximize potential revenue.

What does a merchant need to do?

In the dedicated merchant area of the Affiliate Advantage website, a merchant provides affiliates with a detailed description of his/her affiliate marketing programme. The Merchant will also provide tools to the affiliate with which the affiliate can advertise to and communicate with potential customers. These tools include linking methods, such as text links, banners or buttons, for the affiliates to place on their websites, and a communication tool, which affiliates, can send to customers, such as emails etc.

The Affiliate Advantage ShopWindow suite of products also allows affiliates to place actual product content on their websites. Merchants agree to pay a commission to the affiliate when a customer makes a purchase, or to pay a bounty when the customer takes some other specified action, such as filling out a form.

How do I sign up?

Sign up here. Once you complete the merchants registration form in our website, you will receive an email from Affiliate Advantage regarding your participation as a merchant in the Affiliate Advantage network. This email will contain your username and password, as well as full integration instructions.

What happens next?

Once you have been accepted as an Affiliate Advantage merchant, you will be able to access your account from Affiliate Advantage using your username and password. From there you can access all of the tools you will need to submit links and bannner etc to share with your affiliates. If you need to update your account settings, you can also do this from within the admin area.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing. It's free to become an Affiliate Advantage merchant. All you need to pay is the commissions you choose to pay out to your affiliates plus an extra 30% of this amount as a premium to Affiliate Advantage when each sale is made.

Are there some types of merchants you don't accept?

What if we disagree with amounts payable to affiliates?

This should never happen, as you choose which sales to approve or reject. Our advanced reporting system provides up-to-the-minute sale information as well as transaction and payment information. You are informed of all activities and payments. You can also search your all of your transaction details in your section at www.af-ad.co.uk However, if you have a disagreement, we will happily share all the necessary information with you to reach a compromise.

How do we make sure we have received all orders?

Each order is assigned a sequential sales order number by our system, whether it is approved or declined. In addition it is time and date-stamped, and is only generated by the tracking code on your website.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Yes. By participating in the Affiliate Advantage program as an merchant, you agree to our Terms and Conditions. These are clearly stated on the website and you need to tick the 'I agree' box before our system will allow you to join. Please contact us if you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions.
